GOLF CART OPERATION RULES
The goal of Arrowhead is
to offer the membership a quality
and challenging golf course. Operation of carts will be
a
major contributing factor in achieving this goal.
The clay soil in our fairways is easily compacted.
This is especially true when it is wet. Tightly
compacted
soil will not allow bluegrass to grow.
The roots will not penetrate, and the soil will not
absorb moisture.
There are in excess of 100
carts including club owned and
privately owned carts operating at Arrowhead Country
Club.
This is at least twice as many as recommended for
any 18 hole golf course. With sensible operations,
we can continue to operate the carts
and achieve the goal of first class fairways.
The following rules are formulated with this thought in
mind.
Your adherence to them will make a major contribution
in further development of the
fairways and areas around the greens.
1. Only two carts per
group. This will help with cart
availability for all members and will alleviate
unnecessary
deterioration of the golf course.
2. Carts shall be kept a
minimum of 30 feet from the
greens unless on a cart path.
3. Carts shall be operated
in the rough whenever
possible and fairways shall be crossed at right angles
to the ball position. Parallel driving in the fairways
flattens the grass making mowing extremely difficult.
Avoid heavily worn areas and wet spots.
4. USE CART PATHS.
5. Carts shall not be
operated between the
traps and greens.
6. When the “carts in the
rough only” sign is posted,
you must walk to your ball in the fairway.
7. When the “No Carts”
sign is posted due to wet
conditions, there will be no carts on the course until
conditions improve (determination will be made by the
greenskeeper). Walking will be permitted.
8. If you are disabled and
need to drive your cart close
to your ball or green, you should obtain a flag
from
the Pro Shop for your cart. |
